The Destruction of a Landscape Heritage.

I live five minutes from the sea. Despite this its been a week since I´ve caught a glimpse of it .

A decade has passed since the time when one could take a pleasant walk through the fields from the city to the seaside. Since that time this town and its inhabitants have been subjected to an uncontrolable urban development. More and More, we see apartment blocks, hotels and tourist complexes rise up up from the ground. Recently, we have even had our beloved walk trail to the "telef" taken away from us.
In a city which is increasingly sufocated and emprisoned by concrete how can we ever hope to attract "quality tourism"? It seems that there is a certain amount of ignorance about what motivates a person to visit a certain location for their holiday. Yet its quite a simple concept: If there continues to be such indescriminate destruction of our natural surroundings, of our landscape, of our own space no one will want to visit it. This city will turn into one big "ghost tourist complex". Who wants to spend their holidays in an over developed city? (who wants to live in one?).
Ok so we are by the sea, but of what good is having that vast and beautifull strectch of blue so close to us if no one can see it because of the concrete blocks that carry on rising into the sky as if it were a vertical struggle secure a seaview. (to be continued, should get some work done)
